Plaża - Gdańsk Stogi
Sopot
At a glance
Plaża Stogi is a seaside bathing area in Gdańsk, set on the coastal side of Stogi Island between the waters of the Gulf of Gdańsk, Martwa Wisła and Wisła Śmiała. The beach lies beyond a belt of coastal dunes, giving the setting a natural character while remaining part of the city. Nearby port infrastructure adds a distinctly urban and working-waterfront context to the shoreline.
The beach suits visitors looking for traditional seaside recreation rather than a resort-style attraction. Swimming, sunbathing and walks along the coast are the main activities, with seasonal lifeguard supervision during the designated bathing period. A rescue facility and water-rescue equipment support the bathing area, while the beach includes toilets, showers and drinking-water machines. Wireless internet access is also available in the beach area.
Active visitors can use courts for beach volleyball and football. Cycling is practical, with paths leading towards the beach and bicycle stands positioned near the entrances. Car parks are located close to the shoreline, and the nearby tram and bus terminus makes the beach accessible without a car. The combination of public transport, cycling infrastructure and basic beach facilities makes Stogi convenient for a straightforward day by the sea.
A separate naturist area is designated near Krakowiec, between Stogi and Górki Zachodnie. Access is associated with entrance 23, so the area has a different character from the main family and recreational sections of the beach. The wider shoreline is also close to the Baltic Hub container terminal, where large commercial vessels and port operations form part of the surrounding landscape.
Plaża Stogi works well for families, groups and independent beachgoers who value space for swimming, sport and relaxed outdoor time. It can also serve as a coastal break for visitors staying elsewhere in the Tricity, including Sopot, when a city beach with tram access and practical facilities is preferred. The atmosphere is informal and open, with dunes, sea air and a working port setting shaping the experience.
